Ireland is facing a period of significant change and challenge that will redefine our future relationships North and South, between Ireland and Britain and with the European Union at a time of great turbulence in both regional and global politics. Beyond Brexit, the EU is grappling with a range of issues, including migration, the future of the Eurozone, militarisation, calls for greater integration and the rise Far Right across many jurisdictions. How Ireland responds to this changing constellation of power and decision-making at a national and EU level will be crucial to shaping political outcomes for generations to come. It is against this volatile backdrop that Mary Lou McDonald TD, President of Sinn Féin, will deliver the 2018 IACES Annual Lecture.
